At CITRIS Davis, our goal is to build and foster experiential, real-world experiences for students in STEM/STEAM and workforce development and support.

Workforce Innovation Program

In 2022 we launched a paid summer internship for students at the four CITRIS campuses: Berkeley, Davis, Merced, and Santa Cruz. The CITRIS Workforce Innovation Program will continue in 2025 to place up to 100 undergraduates in STEM-related internships.

The program offers select University of California students the opportunity to inform their career decisions through eight-week paid internships, where they’ll build in-demand skills through on-the-job experience. Participants will receive training in leadership and project management, and will be supported throughout the internship program by dedicated CITRIS staff, as well as the community of peers in their cohort. Host an Intern

Host organizations may be established companies, startups, nonprofit organizations or government agencies, national or campus labs. This year’s areas of focus feature two new tracks: cybersecurity and data for social impact to complement the existing tracks in aviation, climate and energy, digital health, and semiconductors. As a host, you will be matched with top-tier talent to support your priorities and timely projects. Interns are expected to work 30 hours per week for 8 weeks.
